The Christ Church, made of red bricks, is beautifully set amidst a well-maintained and trimmed courtyard. Built in British style, the church emanates an amazing aura. It was constructed by the Church Missionary Society and still stands tall to the adulation of its admirers. Facts to fascinate you: The church was constructed in the year 1816. The Church Missionary Society had bought the land between the Head Post Office and Curzon Gate from the then king at Rs.12.50 per annum as revenue. Captain Charles Stuart, an East Indian Company officer, was in charge of its maintenance.
