Dalai Lama Temple

Dalai Lama Temple Complex near to Upper Dharamsala is a very beautiful and peaceful destination for the travelers to enjoy. Located just a short walk from Mcleod Ganj Bus Stand, the place is ideal for long walks or to do early morning meditation. Dalai Lama Temple Complex is open all days from sunrise to sunset. Just on entering into the temple itself, you can find Lamas sitting at the counters for donations. There are a few shops also inside the complex, selling Tibetan books, t-shirts, and curios. Dalai Lama’s residence is also near to the temple. However, it is not very likely that you get a glimpse of the Lama there as he will always be busy with his spiritual and political duties. On entering into the main temple, you can see thousands of people praying there by chanting with prayer wheels and prayer beads. Tourists can also join the prayers or walk around silently to enjoy the sights.
